Palais Garnier

Of all the opera houses in Europe I have been to, Royal Opera House in London is magnificently regal, Vienna State Opera is full of old-world elegance of a bygone era, Bavarian National Theatre in Munich reminds me of a beautiful palace belonging to Marie Antoinette - with its robin's egg pastel shade and ivory relief work (it also has the best structure and facilities for ballet/opera goers), and Zurich Opera House is a gorgeous little jewellery box which is simply a delight to behold. While the dome ceiling inside the auditorium of Palais Garnier painted by Marc Chagall, is without a doubt, the most splendid celebration of colours and life.

And... a few very pretty photos from friends. ♥ ♥ ♥
